Peace Lily belongs to Araceae family as has evergreen leaves and is generally associated with Virgin Mary. The plant belongs to the genus Spathiphyllum which in itself is the Latin for “peace”.  They are available either in green or white in colour and has been used for indoor decoration for its aesthetic beauty. Since they can sustain even without light, using them as potted plants is comparatively easy. These plants have glossy and lustrous green leaves, however, one of the major problems hindering their growth is pests like Mealybugs which originate at the bottom of the flowers.  The flowers turn into faded green from white, this generally occurs when they receive a healthy amount of light. They are considered native to America and Southeastern Asia and can bloom with a very little amount of water.

Proper care should be taken to eliminate the dust from the leaves, with a damp wet cloth. This helps in fighting pests and well as to restore its appearance. Furthermore, if the soil is damp there is no necessity of watering them. Pests like aphids can be rubbed off easily by spraying a jet of water to the plants.
